About the GTA

The Columbia River Gorge Technology Alliance (Gorge Tech Alliance, GTA) is a professional organization developed to support the high-tech industry of the bi-state Columbia River Gorge region covering the counties of Hood River, Wasco and Sherman in Oregon and Skamania and Klickitat in Washington.

Since 2005, the GTA has worked to help start, grow, expand and sustain high-tech companies in the Gorge. We regularly bring the tech business community together for educational and networking events and connect partners to address issues of importance to the tech sector. As a 501(c)(6) nonprofit membership organization with about 120 members and sponsors, the GTA is the regionally-recognized link to the technology community.

Mission

Support, connect and develop the technology community of the Columbia River Gorge.

Vision

A Columbia River Gorge region known as an innovative technology community where businesses thrive, entrepreneurs are nurtured, community members are engaged,  meaningful employment is abundant, and all children have access to innovative Science, Technology, Engineering and Math opportunities.

Goals

In 2017, the Board conducted organizational research for a full update of our Strategic Plan. The Board identified four critical goals that will be the main focus of the GTA’s work through 2021. The Goals represent the long-term aims we plan to achieve. Underneath each Goal, we identify key Strategies. Strategies represent the major types of activities that are being used to achieve the Goal. Action Steps outline how these Strategies will be implemented. View the full 2017 Strategic Plan here. Our goals in summary are:

  1. Strengthen STEM education.
  2. Increase success of member businesses.
  3. Increase visibility of the Gorge as a center for high tech innovation and commerce.
  4. Increase the GTA’s impact and influence by increasing organizational and programmatic capacity.

Four committees are working on each of the goals to create and implement work plans to achieve our goals. Contact the GTA if you would like to be involved or for more information.
