VertueLab is  a nonprofit fighting climate change by providing funding and holistic entrepreneurial support to cleantech startups. Through a decade of work VertueLab has proven that its model can accelerate climate solutions that are key to reversing the climate crisis.


The organization was formed in 2007 as Oregon BEST, a non-profit economic development engine funded by the State of Oregon to support cleantech startups. Oregon BEST was the first organization in the country to make direct, program-related investments in cleantech startups. Since it’s start-up, VertueLab has:

  • created 459+ jobs  
  • founded 60+ companies 
  • generated $230M+ in follow-on funding by others
  • awarded $7M to cleantech entrepreneurs
